The Airview Standard · Chauffeurs
Pillar i

Every Airview chauffeur.

Vetted, trained, uniformed, certified. Many of our drivers have been with us a decade or more. None are gig workers. None are running multiple apps. They drive for Airview, and that's it.

Vetted before the first drive.

Hiring a chauffeur is more involved than hiring most professionals. Before someone gets behind the wheel for a paying Airview customer, they pass a vetting process that takes several weeks.

A clean criminal record, a clean driving abstract, and references that check out are the floor. Beyond that we look for the quieter things. How they treat the dispatcher on the phone. Whether they show up on time for the interview. How they handle a vehicle on a real road with a senior dispatcher watching.

  • RCMP-level criminal background check, renewed every two years
  • Five-year clean driving abstract from the Ministry of Transportation
  • GTAA Pearson chauffeur permit, including the GTAA-specific background check
  • Two independent references, contacted directly by our hiring desk
  • Live road evaluation with a senior dispatcher before the first revenue trip
  • Drug & alcohol policy: zero tolerance, random testing per industry norms

Trained before the first customer.

Knowing how to drive a car is not the same as knowing how to chauffeur. The difference shows up in small moments. The pace you take a corner with a sleeping toddler in the back. Where you stop at arrivals so the guest doesn't have to walk past three pillars to find you. How you handle a flight that's been delayed four hours.

Every new chauffeur completes Airview's training before solo dispatch. Veteran drivers refresh annually.

  • Defensive driving and collision avoidance, certified through an MTO-approved program
  • Customer-service standards specific to chauffeured ground transportation
  • AODA accessibility training (assisting passengers with mobility devices, service animals, communication aids)
  • Child seat installation: rear-facing, forward-facing, and booster, per Ontario HTA
  • Pearson-specific protocols: arrivals pickup points, gate-side timing, GTAA tariff rules
  • Discretion training for executive and VIP clients

Uniformed, on time, holding the door.

The uniform is not negotiable. Black suit, white shirt, dark tie, polished shoes. Cap when the customer prefers it; off when they don't. We're not putting drivers in branded polos and calling it "casual professionalism." The standard is the standard.

Arrivals at Pearson: the driver is at the door fifteen minutes before your flight lands, watching the flight tracker on the dispatcher's screen. If the flight is early, they're early. If it's late, they wait. Complimentary wait time is built into every airport booking (60 minutes for international arrivals, 30 minutes for domestic); nothing punitive after that.

What you'll notice on the trip. The chauffeur knows your name when you walk out. The luggage is loaded. The temperature is what you asked for last time. The route is the one you preferred last time. The conversation is whatever you want it to be: courteous and present if you want to talk, silent and discreet if you don't.

What you won't notice. A driver checking their phone. A second job. A side hustle on the seat next to yours. A delay because they're between dispatches with another platform. None of that exists in our model.
