Getting to Pearson with children
Travelling to the airport with kids is mostly a question of load and timing. There are more bags, more gear, and more small people who move at their own pace. The trip itself is simple once the car is sorted, and that is the part we take off your plate. One car comes to your door, the seats are already in it, and you are not hunting for anything in a parking garage with a toddler on your hip.
Our family has driven Toronto to Pearson since 1976, and a good share of those trips have been with families. The advice below is the practical stuff we have learned: how the child seats work, what to do with strollers and bags, how much extra time to give yourselves, and what the pickup looks like when you come home tired with the children.
- Free child seats, up to two per booking, matched to each child's age
- One executive vehicle to your door, the seats already fitted
- A flat Pearson fare, HST included, the same in both directions, and no surge
- Automatic flight tracking, so a delay moves your pickup at no charge
- Pay the driver after the trip, by card or cash in the car
Free child seats, matched to your child's age
Child seats are included at no charge. You can add up to two per booking, and they ride ready to go, so you are not carrying your own through the terminal unless you want to. When you book, tell us each child's age. We match the seat to the age, from a rear-facing seat for a baby, to a forward-facing seat for a toddler, to a booster for an older child. We ask about age, not weight, so it is one simple question with nothing to measure.
Because each seat is fitted and secured properly, any booking with a child seat rides in the Executive SUV. That works in your favour: the SUV gives the whole family more room, seats up to six, and holds more of your gear. If you are travelling with a little one, think of the SUV as the family car in our two-car lineup.
- Free, up to two child seats per booking
- We match the seat to each child's age, never their weight
- Rear-facing, forward-facing, and booster stages all covered
- Seats always ride in the Executive SUV, secured by your chauffeur
Which car your family rides in
We keep two vehicle classes, and the choice gets easy once children are in the picture. The executive sedan seats up to three passengers with three bags. The Executive SUV seats up to six passengers with five bags. Any trip that includes a child seat is in the SUV, so most families are in the larger car by default.
If it is one adult and one older child with no seat needed, the sedan can be plenty. The moment you add a car seat, a stroller, and the bags that come with children, the SUV is the comfortable answer. Tell us the ages and the number of bags and we put you in the right car the first time, with no guesswork on the day.
- Executive sedan: up to 3 passengers, 3 bags
- Executive SUV: up to 6 passengers, 5 bags
- Any booking with a child seat rides in the Executive SUV
Strollers, bags, and all the gear
Strollers are the usual worry, and they should not be. A folded stroller travels in the vehicle with the rest of your luggage, and your chauffeur handles the lifting at both ends. If you are gate-checking the stroller for the flight, keep it with you to the curb and we load everything else, then you walk it right up to the terminal door.
For the bags, use the class capacities as your guide. Three bags fit the sedan and five fit the SUV, and that count is meant to include the family's odds and ends, not only suitcases. If you are close to the line, or travelling with a car seat, a stroller, and a full set of luggage, say so when you book so we can be sure the SUV suits the load. It is a quick check that saves a squeeze at the curb.
How much extra time to give yourselves
Children add time in small, predictable ways: a last diaper change, a shoe that comes off, a snack that has to happen right now. The fix is not to rush, it is to start a little earlier. On the airport side, the usual Toronto guidance holds: roughly two hours before a domestic flight and three before an international one, and a full three for any departure before nine in the morning. With young children, lean to the longer end of each range.
The harder question is when to actually leave home, because that depends on where you are in the GTA and the traffic that day. This is the part we do for you. Give us your flight and your address, and we work backward through the airport buffer and the real drive time to a single pickup time to be ready for. You are not doing the arithmetic at six in the morning with a baby awake.
- Domestic flight: aim to be at the terminal about 2 hours ahead
- International flight: about 3 hours ahead
- Any flight before 9 a.m.: budget a full 3 hours
- Travelling with little ones: lean to the longer end and build in buffer
The pickup, and coming home with tired kids
Pickup at Pearson is curbside. Your chauffeur meets you at the curb and texts you exactly where they are standing, so you walk out of the terminal and straight to the car rather than circling with a stroller. On the way out from home, the same car comes to your door at the pickup time we gave you, seats already fitted.
We track your flight automatically, so if you land late the pickup simply moves with it at no charge. From wheels-down you have sixty minutes of included wait on an international arrival and thirty on a domestic one, which is real breathing room for immigration, bags, and a washroom stop with the kids before you head out. Beyond that window it is ten dollars per ten minutes, and we would rather you take the time you need than feel rushed.
The fare is a flat rate on the official airport tariff, HST already included, and identical in both directions, so nothing changes because it is a holiday or a Friday night. There are no deposits and no card on file. You pay the driver after the trip, by card or cash in the car, and you can cancel free up to two hours before pickup. If anything shifts, our dispatch is a real person, day or night, at 1-866-225-1555.
Tell us your children's ages and we bring the right seats in the Executive SUV, flat fare, pay the driver after.
Book your family airport rideQuestions, answered.
Are the child seats really free?
Yes. Child seats are included at no charge, up to two per booking. You do not pay extra for them and you do not have to bring your own. Just tell us your children's ages when you book and the right seats are in the car.
How many child seats can I add to one booking?
Up to two per booking. If you need seats for more than two children, call our dispatch at 1-866-225-1555 and we will work out the arrangement with you directly.
Do you need my child's weight?
No. We ask for your child's age, not their weight, and match the seat to the age. It is one simple question, with nothing to measure or look up before you travel.
What kinds of child seats do you have?
We cover the usual stages by age: a rear-facing seat for a baby, a forward-facing seat for a toddler, and a booster for an older child. Tell us the age of each child and we bring the seat that fits.
Which vehicle will we ride in with a car seat?
The Executive SUV. Any booking that includes a child seat rides in the SUV, which also gives your family more room and holds more gear. It seats up to six passengers with five bags.
Can I bring my own car seat or stroller?
You are welcome to. If you would rather use your own seat, bring it and your chauffeur will help secure it. A folded stroller travels in the vehicle with your luggage, and the driver handles the lifting at both ends.
What happens if our flight lands late with the kids?
Nothing you need to manage. We track your flight, so the pickup moves with the delay at no charge. From wheels-down you have sixty minutes of included wait on an international arrival and thirty on a domestic one, so there is room for immigration, bags, and a washroom stop before you head out.
How and when do we pay?
You pay the driver after the trip, by card or cash in the car. The Pearson fare is a flat rate on the official airport tariff with HST already included, the same in both directions, and it never surges. There are no deposits and no card on file, and you can cancel free up to two hours before pickup.
