Pearson to Fanshawe, flat

Sedan up to 3 passengers, 3 bags $371
SUV up to 6 passengers, 5 bags $391

The published out-of-town rate for London, HST included, the same to 1001 Fanshawe College Blvd, London, ON N5Y 5R6 as to any address in the city, and the same in both directions. 175 km · about 105 to 135 minutes. Never surges.

Fanshawe's main campus is on Oxford Street East in London's northeast, and the drive from Pearson is a straight run west on Highway 401 and up Highbury Avenue, around 105 minutes when the road is clear. Most students arriving from abroad have already been travelling for the better part of a day by the time they reach the Pearson curb, and the last thing that day needs is a decision. The car is waiting, the fare is fixed, and the driver goes to the residence entrance.

The fare is London's single published out-of-town rate with HST included, the same number to Falcon House as to an apartment downtown, and the same number coming back to Pearson at the end of term. It shows on the booking page before anyone confirms, and it is paid to the driver at the end of the trip, by card or cash in the car. A parent booking from overseas pays nothing in advance and is not asked for a card.

We run this corridor in both directions through the year: September and January intakes in, December and April flights out, and the family visits in between. The sedan carries three passengers and three checked bags; a student arriving with a year's belongings usually needs the SUV, which carries six passengers and five bags with the luggage in the back rather than on a lap.

Your first landing at Pearson, in order

  1. Your flight is tracked automatically from the moment you book, so a late departure or a slow taxi to the gate moves your driver's timing without a call from anyone.
  2. Included waiting starts from wheels-down: 60 minutes on international arrivals, 30 on domestic. That is enough for immigration, a study permit interview, and baggage for almost everyone.
  3. When you reach arrivals with your bags, look at your phone. Your chauffeur has texted the exact spot they are standing, curbside at your terminal, with the car's licence plate.
  4. Walk out, find the plate, and the driver loads everything. Nothing to sign and nothing to pay yet.
  5. At the campus door you pay the driver, by card or cash in the car, exactly the flat fare you saw when the trip was booked. HST is already in it.

Where the car goes on campus

  • The on-campus residences are Falcon House, Peregrine House and Merlin House, the three apartment-style buildings, and Kestrel Court, the townhouses. Name the building in the booking notes and the driver pulls up at its entrance rather than at the main Oxford Street gate.
  • Fanshawe's downtown campus on Dundas Street is a separate address a few minutes from the main campus; enter it on the booking page and the fare is the same London rate.
  • Off-campus student housing along Fanshawe Park Road, Cheapside Street and the streets around Oxford and Highbury is all inside the same published rate, so a shared house is no more to reach than the residence.
  • The January intake means arrivals in the coldest week of the year. The car is warm, the driver loads the bags, and the included waiting from wheels-down is the same 60 minutes on an international flight whatever the weather is doing.
  • Count on about 105 minutes door to door outside the rush; a Friday afternoon or a weekday evening can run toward 135 through the Milton stretch of the 401. Departing, the pickup time comes from that day's traffic rather than a rule of thumb.

Every trip includes

  • GTAA-tariff flat rate. HST included.
  • Meet & greet at arrivals: coming soon.
  • Flight tracking automatically. If you land early, the driver knows; if you're delayed, the pickup shifts.
  • Complimentary airport wait from wheels-down: 60 minutes international, 30 domestic.
  • Free cancellation up to 2 hours before pickup.

Fanshawe questions, answered.

How much is the trip from Pearson to Fanshawe College?

It is London's single published out-of-town rate, shown above for the sedan and the SUV, with HST included. It is the same fare to any Fanshawe address, in either direction, at any hour, and a delayed flight does not change it.

I am a parent overseas. Can I book and let my child ride?

Yes. Enter your own mobile with its country code, tick that you are booking for someone else, and give the student's number. The confirmation and any changes come to you; the on-the-day text with the driver's location and licence plate goes to the student. The fare is settled with the driver at the campus, so nothing is charged to you in advance and no card is kept on file.

Where does the driver meet a student arriving for the first time?

Curbside at arrivals at their terminal. Before the student has collected their bags, the driver has texted the exact spot they are standing and the car's plate. If the student's phone will not work in Canada on landing, add a parent's number to the booking and the text reaches whoever can read it.

What if immigration or the study permit desk takes a long time?

Included waiting on an international arrival is 60 minutes from wheels-down, and the flight itself is tracked so the driver is not waiting on a schedule that has already slipped. If the desk takes longer than that, waiting is billed at the posted per-10-minute rate and the driver stays until the student walks out.

Which vehicle should a new student book?

For a year's luggage, the SUV: six passengers, five checked bags, and enough room that two large cases and a carry-on each are not a problem. The sedan carries three passengers and three bags and is the right choice for a visit or a light trip home at reading week.

Do you go to the downtown campus and to student houses off campus?

Yes, to any address in London on the same published rate. Enter the exact address on the booking page so the driver has it, and name the building or the unit in the notes.

How long does the drive take?

Around 105 minutes off-peak, west on Highway 401 and up Highbury Avenue to Oxford Street. A weekday afternoon can run to 135 minutes. For a flight out of Pearson we set the pickup from live traffic and the check-in window your airline wants, and dispatch answers around the clock if the flight moves.

Can I cancel or change the booking if the flight changes?

Cancellation is free up to 2 hours before pickup, and a change of time or flight number is a message away. On the arrival leg the flight tracking handles delays on its own; on the departure leg tell us once and the pickup moves with it.
